After landing in Mytilini exhausted, the refugees had to climb on foot a steep hill to reach the Mantamedos transit camp operated by MSF (Doctors without borders). One or two days later they left on buses to Moria registration camp. When I visited I saw this father cheering up his baby while waiting for the arrival of the buses.

As soon as arrived in Moria the refugees hurried to the main gate to receive their registration waiting number

Then they collapsed on the ground along the fence of the Moria camp. They had nothing else to do than wait and survive up to three days until their registration numbers came up. No sanitation nor tents or food were provided by the Greek authorities

I could see in the smile of the elder sister an immense kindness but just behind her was this world of stones and I could do nothing.
